ITs Almost Gone!!!

So 2008 is almost gone. Can you believe it I sure can't. We have been in Alaska for a little over a year now. I have to say I do so love it. I love how everything is so laid back and calm. Granted yes it does get cold. What can I say to that as I am sitting in my house with my spare heaters running since it is -46 (below) outside. We are suppose to get to -60 tonight we shall see. And even though you cars are still pluged in it does not mean they will start. As we have found out since the car is in the drive not starting. UGH!! Oh well we still have the trucks. We have to get the car back into the garage and take the trailblazer out. We have a had a wonderful year. And as many of you may have noticed I have not sent out any Christmas Cards. I am so sorry but I lost track of time. I worked all Christmas week including Christmas day. I work 6 days a week on average. So I am not home all that much. Dennis is doing well even though he hates that his job keeps switching his schedule. (Granted he is not the only one). Maison is also doing well. He had surgery in November to get his snoring problems fixed and some other minor issues taken care of. Now he no longer snores and is starting to breathe through his nose. We went to Anchorage this summer for our anniversary it was a blast. We are planning lots of trips for this summer to include our Glacier cruise and maybe a trip to Hawaii. Dennis leaves for schooling in May/June. So when he gets back we will hopefully get our trips done before he goes back for more schooling in October. Well hopefully I will get better at this blog thing!! LOL Happy New Year. Kari

Christmas is fast approaching and we are all done with shopping. This is the first time I have had black Friday off so I went shopping. I have to work Christmas Day for a few hours bit we do have a full day planned. We are having alot of airman over for dinner. It will be a blast. I wanted to say Happy Birthday, Happy Holidays to everyone. I am really late on Christmas cards so I will hopefully get New Years Cards out. I am still waiting to get the perfect picture for the cards. Yes I am so working on all of it. Well Hugs and Kisses to all!!!

Winter is here

Well winter is here. Why you ask. Well because it snowed yesturday and got down to 15 degrees last night. Yep its here. Pretty soon we will be in the negatives and I will be having to plug the truck in and warm it up for 20-30 minutes. No more going outside with wet hair as it will just freeze and fall off. Oh well it is my favorite season so yes I am so looking forward to it. I love it the cold, snow and ice cycles hanging everywhere. Call me crazy but I do so love it. Maison loves the snow also he was so excited yesturday when it was snowing. It did not stick however but soon enough it will.. Hugs and Kisses

FALL IS HERE!!

Well fall has arrived in this great state. I love it. The trees are turning beautiful colors the leaves are falling. I have decorated for Fall. My decore has changed outside. The pumkins are out and we are ready for Halloween. This may sound funny to you all but tomorrow we put up Christmas lights on the house. We have to do it before it gets to cold and the snow starts falling. This is the first weekend the base lets us do it. All four of us houses that are connected have a theme this year. We are all putting out icecyle lights white ones. And each enrty way has a theme. I really don't know what mine is yet. But hey I have time to think of that one. Maison is doing well. He started speech preschool and they are testing him on a few things since he has some anger issues. He doesn't like big groups either and gets really mean. So they are trying to figure some things out with him. Other that that we are doing great. I am trying to get into swimming lessons as the kid loves water. We had a birthday party last weekend that we went to and we could not get the kid out of the water. He did so well. We are also thinking of renting the pool out for his 5Th birthday party in March. It was such a hit for our friend that we would like to do it also. There isn't alot you can do in the winter. Well the weather has changed quite quickly also. We were having beautiful summer days with low 70's and now we are in the low 50's to 40's. This week they are calling for snow and low 30's. We will see. I mowed the lawn for the last time this summer. Since we are calling for snow I had to get the yard ready for it. I only have a little bit left of the yard to do but I got cold so I had to come in. Yes I had a jacket and pants on. I know what you all are thinking since i live in shorts and short sleeve shirts. We have some pictures taken of Maison and they turned out great. Keep an eye out in the mail around Christmas for them. He has school pictures this week. Oh where does the time go... OK Maison is telling me he wants lunch so I must be off. Hugs and Loves THE KELLER'S

hello

Haha Dennis didn't get to go on his mini vacation. Thanks to the volcano that is erupting they have cancelled all flights out of here. Oh well. Well I am sick yet again. I have a double ear infection that is kicking my butt. UGH!!! I am trying to do this more often. We are having a garage sale on Saturday Dennis and I cleaned out or closets. Do you know how hard it is to part with stuff that you know one day you will fit into again.. I gave up and just tossed it out into the sale pile and decided when I lose the weight I will buy me new clothes. LOL Ok well its a football night so talk with you all later. Hugs Kari

Welcoming a new month

Hello everyone, I am getting better at this. As I am sitting here at 30 minutes past midinght typing my blog. I am babysitting for my neighbor whos husband is deployed at this moment. The house is finally sold. I am happy and sad at the same time. I loved my house. But yet again I don't know if I ever want to go through that again. I am so happy that I found out that there are hop (plane rides from the base aiprt) that leave monthly to spokane washington. So hopefully I will be able to get some time off from work to come home for awile. They are month long but I can so handle that. Dennis's work changed there working schedule yet again. Now they are working 4 on 2 off 15 hour shifts. Which pisses me off. The commander says that since the airman can't stay out of trouble that they have way to much time on there hands. So now I have to rearrange our trips that I have planned for the summer. Maison starts school 27 August and has his oral surgery 10 July. I have a busy summer plus my mother in law is coming to visit in August still dont know all the dates.

Okay the lastest out of my sons mouth
Maison: Mommy whyo do yoiu have hair down there? You only are suppose to have hair on your head.
Me: Maison only mommys have hair down there. That means we are big girls.
Maison: OK

Next morning Maison was gettin in the shower with Dennis

Maison: Daddy why do you have hair down there.
Dennis: Because
Maison: Daddy why do you have hair on your boobies
Dennis: I don't have boobies and I have hair on my chest
Maison: Daddy why do you have hair on your legs
Dennis: Gives up and gets in the shower
Oh how we love our children... LOL

wow long time

Hello Everyone, I am so sorry about how bad I am on updating this. Well spring has sprung in Alaska. It is beautiful here and I love it. We saw our first moose a couple weeks ago. And now we see them all the time. We have some that love our yard. This week I am planting my garden I really wonder how long it is going to last with the moose. For those that do not know we sold our house. We close friday and we are finally done with all that mess. I swear the world came off our shoulders. We have so many plans now that we don't have that anymore. Maison is going to have oral surgery in July. I was planing on going to Ca in July but the plans have changed since he has to have all that done. It is going to cost us a pretty penny.. LOL oh well. I am still working at the Dinning Hall here on base and still liking it. Dennis has been working days for awhile now. I am trying to get a different shift since Dennis is on days and we have Maison in the CDC. He is doing very well in there. He also starts school this fall at North Pole Elementry. He is enrolled in there Pre-K program and speech. He will be going to big boy school. Well that is all with us... Happy Spring and we are all welcoming summer... Love the Kellers

I am back....

Ok are you happy I have made it back to my blog.... Ok so Maison has to have major teeth work done. We have to go to another dr to see all what has to be done. They say he doesnt have any enmal on his teeth and that he grinds them very hard plus he has some cavities. So they want to look at him with another Dr that knows kids better and probably cap all his teeth. Of course our insurance only covers 20 percent but I also have insurance that kicks in, in May so that will help us. We had to move Fred out of Maison's room. For those that don't know Maison got a betta fish in a tank and named him Fred. Well he thinks Fred needs to be feed every few minutes and also should be played with. After listening to my sister I had purchased a tank with a locking lid that is suppose to be child proof. Well that is not the case with Maison. LOL Dennis is in Anchorage on his TDY and Maison and I are missing him. We also got Maison a power wheels ATV for his birthday and since it has been nice we let him out side with it finally. He loves it and has a blast racing up and down the street with his helmet on. Its funny it snowed all night thursday and friday and by saturday it was melting and 50 degrees. It was in the mid 50's sunday and today so we were outside. I had to work today so we could only be out a little while. Tommorw I have to work all day so we wont be able to play outside. Well I am off to bed. hugs

Update!!

I know I know I am horrible at this thing. Well what can I say I work and have alot going on. Well winter has come back to us in this great state. It has been snowing for 2 weeks now. I can't believe it was all gone for about a day and now we are in winter wonderland. LOL!! Maison got kicked out of daycare a few weeks ago. The lady could not handle him and said that he was to special needs for her. Whatever!! So now I have him at the child daycare on base instead of a home daycare and he is doing great. They told me that he is very nice and plays well with others.. WOOHOOO!!! Tomorrow Maison has a denist appointment lets all pray his teeth aren't going to cost me a millon dollars to fix. Dennis leaves on Sunday for a TDY to the crime lab for training in Anchorage. He's not leaving the state so please everyone relax. We know he will have to go soon but we don't know when he will be going we are thinking after a big inspection in October. Lets see what else I have been working full time at work with the Red Flag training going on here and it has kept me very busy plus tired. The house still is not sold. Oh how I wished it was. I so want to go on nice vacation this winter. We are thinking maybe Hawaii if Dennis isn't leaving. We are getting our passports in May. Maison finally got his fish. We got him a Betta and his name is Fred. I wonder sometimes. Maison picked him out at the fish store from a ton of Bettas he is blue and green. He thinks that fish needs to eat every five minutes so needless to say we have hid the fish food. I have had to change the water a few times in the tank already. He has a Elmo fish tank that he got from his birthday money from Papa. Well I am off to bed as it is almost midnight and I have to get up early. So goodnight and goodmorning.. Love and miss you all.... The Kellers

Oh Kids!!!

Today was Masion's 4year well child checkup. He is 41lbs and 42.5inches tall. Now I know why I am going through so many clothes. The boy is getting big not only have his legs grown his feet as well. I have a feeling we will be hitting another growth spurt soon. Only because they way he has been growing. The kid cracks me up. I come home for lunch as I do everyday. And he come up to me and tells me his butt hurts. He pulls down his pants and spreads the checks so he can show my where it hurts. I tell him to get me a baby wipe and I will help him out. What does he come back with??? A tampon!! He tells me that I need to put it in his butt and it will make it feel all better. I was rolling in laughter. I don't even know why he wants the dam thing nor how he knew I had them. All this has taught me is that Masion looks under the sink in the bathrooms and thought that it would help his probelm. Granted he bottom was not dirty in anyway. He kills me. Ok enough embarssing stuff about my son. I also asked the Dr about Maison's speech. Well they don't have the same system up here as they do in wyoming so know I have to go through a whole new thing. Great!!!! Atleast the job that I have I also have medical insurance and can get further with stuff. Oh well. Then the Dr and I went therough the list of questions that the daycare has had for me and she was kinda taken off gaurd so atleast she put my worries aside. And I have a normal 4 year old that just gets bored easy. LOL He just doesn't want to sit and do nothing he is a busy body and i dont mind a bit. He is so into Scooby Doo and playing Clifford on the computer, and he still sets up his trains and plays with them. I just have to get into letting him do some painting since he is not to fond of crayons. That is my next project. Once I finish getting the house in order. Since I still have about 10 boxes left to unpack. I will most likely getting rid of that stuff since i have not needed it. But I am looking for a few things. Dennis wants me to take everything that I no longer want to the Airman Attic instead of having a garage sale. Whatever!! For those of you that do not know what an Airmans Attic is it is a place that you can go get free stufff most base it is for E-4 and bellow but here it is open to all ranks. Ok well I have to go back to work. So blog with you all later.... Kari

Happy Easter

So Maison wakes up this morning and the first thing he says to me is Mommy wake up its time for me to get my candy and presents from the bunny... HMM the threat that I used the night before for him to go to sleep is now bitting me in the butt. I look at the time and I don't want to wake up. So I tell him he has to lay in mommys room for awhile and watch tv. Since we arent doing Easter until tonight when Dennis is home. It amazes me how children work. Granted I was telling him until midnight that if he did not go to sleep then the Easter Bunny would not come to our house and bring him new stuff. Yes seven am kicks my butt when I still stayed up for my mommy time and to catch up on some of my shows on the DVR. Life with a DVR is great I don't know how I would do with out it. HAHA!! I am trying to figure out when I can get Maison in for some much overdue pictures at Sears. I am trying to get Dennis into doing a family one but so far he is not going for it. Men whatever!! The weather here in great Alaska is still the same in the 20's and some negative nights. They keep telling me that I will wake up the first week of April and all the snow will be gone replaced with flowing rivers of water. So we went out and bought Maison a pair of wellies. Which he thinks are his firemen boots. I let him pick them out they had a crap load of colors. What does my son grab.... Black and Yellow. GEESH I thought he would of got blue or green since those are his favorite colors. So I blame that one totally on my dad I think his firemen ways are wearing off on my son. And he is a cop's kid for crying out load wouldn't you think he would of gone for the blue like daddy?? He loves it when Dennis comes by the house in his police car and everytime we drive somewhere he thinks that every car that we pass is daddy. But then again this kid can point out a firetruck miles away before I even notice. So yet again THANKS DAD!!! LOL Oh you gotta love kids. Ok well it is my day off and I need to get back to cleaning my house. Love you all Kari

The week in review

Ok I know I called my blog the daily post but hey I have a life. I also work a fulltime job. So Maison turned four thursday. We are in the process of getting rid of the sippy cup since children over two are not suppose to have them. (Long story) We went to the Ice Fest on Sunday and had a blast I uploaded the pictures on photo bucket. There are alot of them I for warn you. Our warm weather has gone away and now it has been snowing for two days. Oh well I will get the yard done one of these days. The only reason it snowed was because I bought the seeds for my garden sunday. I am rearranged my house this weekend and hanging my curtains that came in this weekend. Plus I am going to steam clean the carpets and get my house all ready for the summer guest that I am having. Yes we have a guest room and yes it has a tv in it.. (LOL) Well I hope everyone is doing well. And let me know if you are heading this way. Hugs Kari

Child For Sale!!

Ok who wants him?? I will sell him to you cheap but you must come pick him up. So I got a call today from Maison's new daycare provider. He is hitting her spitting his food across the room and hitting the other kids. I swear my son does not understand how hard it is to find care. So he wants to run the new one off. UGH!! Atleast she is going to give a couple weeks to get his crap in order. I am making a DR appt for the little bogger to see what the hell his problems are and to get his referrel for speech. He wouldnt even talk to her. On the bright side of life. It has warmed up here. It was 53 degrees today it was shorts weather. YEAH!!! I know all you people think I am crazy but hey atleast all the people here know I am not. I opened the windows and let the nice air into the house. My goal is to get the yard finished so I dont have to smell that stuff in a few weeks when all the snow is gone. Yes that is what I said when it is all gone. You know when the crap is up to your knees and hard as ice it takes awhile to melt. I can't wait for the summer that everyone has told me about. I already love this place I can't wait to see all the stuff. We are going to the ice carving fest on Sunday. We will see some of the mushers and I am going to take Maison down the ice slide. WOOHOO!!! I can't wait. Then is May comes the salmon run and the big Salmon bake where it is all you can eat salmon and prime rib. For those of you know I am in line for that one. I will spend all dam day there if I can. haha. Maison decieded to grow on me again so this weekend we also will be heading to Sears to buy him some new pants. I want to cry since I will have to go shopping in the big boy section no more toddlers. They are just to short. How did this happen my baby grew up. Its funny cause he is soo skinny. The kid only weighs 38lbs by my scale. I used my tape measure on him and he is almost 43 inches. Well I am off to bed its 10pm and I need to sleep as I have to work in the morning. Hugs Kari

What the hell!!!

You know there are some things that I will never understand. I went and picked Maison up at daycare this evening and my daycare provider informed me that she no longer is going to do evening and weekend care. WTF!!! Now I am so screwed. I am now on the hunt to find someone that will watch Maison part time and will be able to watch him with Dennis's crapy schedule. Which by the way is not a normal schedule and people just don't undersatnd it. No not all military work monday thry friday 7-430. HAHA!!! I only wished. No he works 3 on 2 off 2 on 3 off. (pretty much every other weekend. I choose this women because her husband does the same job as Dennis and knows the schedule and had no problem with it.) Until now. She says it is to hard and the daycare office is to hard on her for night and weekend care. UGH!!! Ok I know this is my vent. And to top it off it is windy today the place that never sees wind is windy!!! Everyone is like it is never like this here. I am thinking give me -50 any day over this wind, it makes it worse outside. And yes it is sitting at -30 right now. Oh well/ I am off to bed so good night. Kari

The first day of blogging

Hello to all my family and friends, I have deicied to take after my darling sister and make a blog for everyone to read. For those of you that do not know Dennis is back from Korea and we now live in Alaska. Eielson Air Force Base to be correct. It is a base that is all by itself not connected to a town. But North Pole Alaska is a 15 minute drive away and Fairbanks is a 30 minute drive. There are things that completly amaze me up here. I would of thought a town of Fairbanks with the population that it has that there would be a mall. Do you know that there is no mall, no big stores, nothing the town that has one is seven hours away. I am thinking where the hell did we land ourselfs this time. And to think we wanted to come here. Do not get me wrong we love it up here, its beautiful, Dennis's loves his job (he is now the flight chief of Badger flight) and I have a great job. I love the weather and yes I have made it through -56!! I am so proud of myself. Dennis didn't leave the house on that day well the first day it did that I had to go to work that day. It was cold and I actually had to get my thick winter coat out and my gloves. Maison loves the snow and man there is alot of it. But we have adjusted to the constant negative temps but hey there is NO WIND!!!! Loving that! For those of you that think we live in constant darkness that meith is not true. Yes we went through a month of only 4 hours of daylight but now we are into normal sunlight. We are waiting for it to warm up and to get started on the yard work that is ahead of us. Do you know how hard it is to pick up frozen dog poop. I swear I should connect a bag to there butts so it can catch it cause that stuff freezes before it hits the ground..But we love it up here. We are planning our summer all ready. We are going to take a trip to Seward and Dennis's family is coming in August so I know we will be going places then. In May we will be heading to Anchorage to do some much needed Mall time!! LOL I am so saving up for that one. On another note. We still have our house for sale in Wyoming. It was sold and two days before closing the lady pulled out. It took us 7 days to get here from Monatana and that was a very long drive. We drove both cars up here. Well I hope this finds you all well. And I have some pictures up on photo bucket if you all want to see them. Love yah!!
